Don’t Stress – How to Deal With the Stress in Your Life

Stress is an occupational hazard for busy professionals, but the body and mind needs to be able to relax to repair and maintain energy levels, so it is important to take a little time out of every day to de-stress. Here’s some tips from Organised Bliss on how to keep the stress out of your life.

Organise Yourself – People’s lives are full of little jobs - household maintenance, looking after pets, baby sitting; the list can be endless. Organising yourself so you know who’s doing what and when can massively reduce your overall stress levels.

Hit the Sack - Lack of sleep is a big contributor to stress. If you have not had enough sleep, you are more likely to feel irritable and upset.

Keep on Top of Your Finances - Money is the number one source of stress in life and financial problems will play on your mind if they have not been resolved. Despite the temptation, try not to stuff bills out of sight and out of mind, it will just lead to more stress later on. Make a to-do-list and start organising your finances, you will worry less if you know exactly how much you have and how much you owe.

Get Away From it All - A change of scenery can work wonders for your stress levels; try a weekend away if it’s all getting too much

Go Nuts - Nuts, particularly almonds and Brazil nuts, are a great source of magnesium, a mineral that many of us are deficient in. Magnesium deficiency can result in increased stress levels, so a handful of unsalted nuts a day is an excellent addition to the diet.

Enjoy a Long Lunch - Whether you are at work or buried in chores, a decent lunch break can make all the difference. Take time over your meal and you will come back to the task at hand refreshed and re-energised.
